Gantner captures the data that counts

What role does Gantner Instruments play in the aerospace test and development sector?
"Gantner Instruments provides high-performance data acquisition solutions for aerospace test and development programmes. Our systems support the entire validation lifecycle, from component and subsystem testing to full-scale structural, propulsion, environmental and system-integration testing. They acquire synchronised data from thermocouples, strain gauges, pressure sensors, accelerometers and other transducers with high accuracy and reliability.
“Our modular, distributed architecture is particularly valuable for large test articles and complex test cells. Through real-time processing, flexible data logging, open interfaces and multi-level data redundancy, we help aerospace organisations improve test efficiency, safeguard valuable measurement data and accelerate the development of safer, more efficient aircraft and spacecraft."
What will the company be showcasing on its stand at this year's show?
"Gantner Instruments will showcase its modular Q.series X data acquisition platform for demanding aerospace test applications. A key highlight will be the new Q.series X A151 DAQ module for high-accuracy resolver measurements. It provides precise, real-time feedback on angular position and rotational speed, which is crucial for aero-engine and propulsion-system testing.
“Visitors can also experience GI.bench version 1.19, the latest release of our data acquisition software. Its improved user interface simplifies system configuration and data logging, helping engineers set up tests more efficiently. The new Records Manager provides a practical environment for organising, reviewing and managing recorded datasets throughout a test programme."
What key trends or challenges are currently shaping demand for your products/services in aerospace testing?
"The transition towards more sustainable aviation is a major driver of demand. Hydrogen propulsion presents new challenges in cryogenic temperature and strain measurement, while electric and hybrid-electric propulsion require accurate, galvanically isolated measurements for batteries, inverters and electric drives. Manufacturers are also adopting lightweight composite structures to reduce aircraft mass and fuel consumption.
“Although simulation and digital twins play an increasingly important role, physical test data remains essential for validating models and supporting certification. These developments increase demand for flexible DAQ systems that synchronously acquire electrical, thermal and mechanical signals, operate reliably in harsh test environments and scale from component tests to complete propulsion systems and airframe structures."
What can visitors expect to see at your stand this year?
"Visitors can expect an interactive experience with several live demonstrations of our Q.series X data acquisition systems running the latest GI.bench software. They can see how quickly engineers can configure measurement channels, visualise signals in real time, log data and manage recorded datasets.
“Together with our sensor partners, we will also demonstrate wireless sensing solutions and fibre Bragg grating sensors integrated with the Gantner measurement platform. These demonstrations will show how conventional, wireless and optical sensors can be combined within flexible, synchronised measurement architectures for aerospace structural, propulsion and environmental testing."
Why is the Aerospace Test & Development Show an important event for Gantner Instruments to be part of?
"The Aerospace Test & Development Show is one of the world's leading events dedicated specifically to aerospace testing and validation. Its location in Toulouse, at the heart of the European aerospace industry, brings us close to major aircraft manufacturers, propulsion specialists, research organisations and test-system integrators. For Gantner Instruments, it is an important opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships, develop new collaborations and engage directly with an international community focused on advancing aerospace test technology."
Looking ahead, what's next for Gantner Instruments?
"We have an exciting technology development planned that will make the Q.series X platform even more scalable for large aerospace test installations with high channel counts. It will further strengthen our ability to support complex test cells and distributed measurement architectures.
“We are also developing a redundant, high-availability client-server architecture for mission-critical measurement applications where uninterrupted data availability is essential. Our product roadmap includes extended capabilities for higher sample-rate applications. In parallel, we will continue developing GI.bench, adding functionality and refining the user experience for system configuration, real-time visualisation, data logging and recorded-data management."
Is there anything else you would like to add?
"We look forward to meeting aerospace test engineers, system integrators and technology partners in Toulouse. Visitors are welcome to bring their measurement challenges to our stand, whether related to propulsion, structural, environmental or system integration testing."
