Mayo Adetoro
Mayo Adetoro is a Senior Lecturer in Computational Fluid and Solid Mechanics at Brunel University of London, with over 15 years’ experience in industry and academia developing advanced modelling methods for aerospace structures, fluids and coupled fluid–structure systems.
He is the developer of UniSim, a new scaled-testing framework and the first and only known broadly applicable approach to conduct tests using geometrically smaller specimens and accelerated timescales. Under UnISim’s prescribed conditions, scaled tests reproduce the behaviour or response of the full-scale structure with strict accuracy.
UniSim therefore addresses a practical challenge faced across aerospace testing: reducing the size, duration and cost of physical tests while preserving confidence in the evidence they produce. It has been applied to aircraft landing impact, crashworthiness, fuel sloshing and fluid–structure interaction problems. His current focus is on moving UniSim towards industrial application, leading to reduction in testing costs, lead times and risk while strengthening the evidence produced for development, validation and future certification.
