Tobias Adam is an Application Engineer at Optomet, a German manufacturer of Laser Doppler Vibrometers (LDV) based in Darmstadt. He holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Siegen, where his research focused on vibration-based Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of aircraft fuselage structures and modal analysis — including leading a project combining acoustic and modal SHM with machine learning for automated damage detection in CFRP structures.

At Optomet, he advises customers on the technical feasibility of measuring vibration problems with LDV technology, guiding them from initial concept to implementation — from fundamental research to industrial process monitoring, and from low-frequency structural dynamics to ultrasonic MEMS applications. He enjoys discovering new applications and solving customer challenges together with them.
