Virtual testing can reduce time, costs and risks associated with physical tests of aerospace structures. Therefore NLR developed a virtual testing method using reduced order modelling to predict test article behaviour and servo-hydraulic actuator loads & velocities before testing. The method was validated by physical tests with increasing complexity.
